FAQs

 Hello!

Pip here.

I decided to answer some frequently asked questions for y'all.

Why aren’t you coming to my town on your tour?

The simple reason is, your town didn’t book me. This is an area that many people don’t understand so I’m always happy to explain. In general with tours we go wherever we are booked (with in reason). You also have to bare in mind, we are humans and the human body can only manage so many shows a year/in a row. Voices aren’t endless things. They can get worn out and broken.

The main thing is being booked though. If we don’t get booked in a town then we cant play there. The way a tour is put together is our agent will put out the word that we are looking to put together a tour and then said tour will be constructed as best we can from the offers and available nights/venues.

Can you play xxxxxxxxx Festival/go on xxxxxxx?

Sure! But, again, we need to be booked for it. The cool thing about social media is y'all can have a voice so, if you want me to play somewhere or go on something, hit THEM up. Tweet them, facebook them, hit them up any way you can. Get your friends to do the same. It's worked in the past and will work again.

You kids have the power these days and thats just splendid.

Are you and dan REALLY done?

The simple answer is: yes.

We are both incredibly proud of all we achieved over our three records. To even get to complete a three record album deal in this day and age is a huge achievement so to go out on our most successful album, biggest tour and even a few awards seemed perfect.

We both have a lot of plans separately and still remain in good contact.

Basically, us having said all we feel we need to together, simply means you will get twice as much stuff from us separately.

Do you have a link for tickets?

I don’t, no. Or, I do, but I don’t have it memorised or tattooed on me anywhere. So my way of finding said link is the same as yours.

If I want the link the quickest way to get it will be to search for it on google.

And y’all are more than capable of doing that too so we should both be fine.

I try to put all the links in a blog or a facebook post or something to make it easier but, in general, it shouldn’t be too hard to find.

Can I get a follow back?

Probably not. And I don’t mean to be mean. I just don’t understand the desire for a follow. It’s a button click.

Being someone that tours and works a lot its hard to keep up with goings on on twitter/instagram so I like to keep it to a minimum so I can keep up to date with stuff.

I will always do my best to interact and engage with people on there and I think that means way more than “a follow”.

I would rather have a discussion with you than click a button to falsify our level of relationship. Lets ACTUALLY develop that level through interaction instead yeah?

Where can I get your stuff?

All the usual places really. I have my own webstore at scroobiuspip.co.uk.

I also have a whole load of stuff you can check out for free on youtube and then, hopefully, pay for on iTunes or whatever is your preferred place to buy stuff.

Can you support/tweet about this charity thing I’m doing?

I could. Of course I could. But it would dilute the effect of such support.

Let me explain. I have found that the more things like that I post, the less engagement they get. People generally ignore them all if there is a lot.

Due to that I try to just post about stuff I have a personal connection with.

I have found with this method people engage more and pay attention to such causes as they aren’t just lost in a wash of similar posts.

Just because I don’t have a personal connection to your cause, that doesn’t make it any less important.

It simply means that, despite the fact I may have more followers than you, your own heartfelt and emotional posts and support of the cause will in fact be worth way more than my own.

General beard related stuff.

In recent years beards have become real popular. And Im happy for them. But Im not really into beards. I have one but I have no great passion or excitement for them. They are just hair on your face. Its really not that big a deal.

So I generally don’t have much to say about them.

I don’t have any great advice on how to grow one (just don’t shave I guess… maybe use some beard oil?) or feel any connection to someone simply for the fact they have a beard.

I also don’t think that anyone that has a beard looks like me. Or could be my brother. I mean, my brother doesn’t have a beard. So…

Do you want to sign me to your label?

Sadly, right now, Im not looking to sign anyone. I run the label on my own. I use a few outside companies on certain releases in specific areas but I don’t have any employees (nor am I in a position to employ any) so balancing and giving time to the rosta I already have is all I have time for right now.

Many exciting things ahead for the label.

Do you do that shirt in a different colour?

No. I mean… no. How would that work? This is a tiny label. We cant have factories full of shirts in every colour. Just… I mean… we just have what it says we have in the store. Black shirts are the best anyway. Everyone knows that. Stop being silly.

Can I get a signed photo?

No. No you can’t. I don’t own any photos of myself. That’d feel weird. You can always get a photo or signature at any of my events though.

Do you do meet & greet tickets for your shows?

Every fucking ticket is a meet & greet ticket at my shows. That stuff annoys the hell out of me. I don’t think EVERY artist has a responsibility to meet their fans. Everyone has their own ways and comfort levels. But I do think you either do it or you don’t do it. Charging for such things is just rude. At all my shows, whether it be a gig, my clubnight, my film night or anything else, I am around to chat, have photos, sign stuff. All I ask is that you are polite and cool about it, remember you are just talking to another human and don’t be a dick.

We would rather do meet & greets for free so you can spend your post show money on meat & grease.

Can I send you free money?

Yes. Do it. Give me your money. I’m fine with that.

Can you follow me so I can send you a DM?

No. There’s no need for that. I alone run my twitter, facebook, instagram and public email address. So there are many ways for you to hit me up. Don’t panic. It’s going to be fine.

Would you rather fight a hundred duck sized horses or one horse sized duck?

I would rather you didn’t ask that same dumb question thinking its all quirky n shit is what I’d rather.
